Key messages
- Flash glucose monitoring (FGM) has been shown to be effective in reducing hypoglycemia in type 1 and 2 diabetes in the absence of chronic kidney disease (CKD).
- In this single-center study in 94 patients with diabetes and CKD, FGM was effective in reducing hypoglycemia and improving HbA1c.
- FGM did not significantly differ from self-monitoring of blood glucose (SMBG) when accompanied by hypoglycemia education.
- FGM was acceptable in this population with high sensor use.
