Real-world data suggest that SGLT2i and GLP1-RA reduce the risk for macular oedema, heart failure, hospitalisation and all-cause mortality in people with type 2 diabetes over 5 years. SGLT2i reduces the risk for microvascular complications including neuropathy, autonomic neuropathy and retinopathy.
