Dr. Lam is Chair Professor in Medicine, Rosie TT Young Professor in Endocrinology & Metabolism, and Clinical Director of the State Key Laboratory of Pharmaceutical Biotechnology, at the University of Hong Kong. She leads a clinical and translational research program focusing on the prediction of obesity-related diseases, especially cardiovascular diseases, type 2 diabetes and its complications, through research on adipocyte-derived hormones, genetics and long-term cohort studies.
